CHRISTINE JAMES began playing the piano as a young child, and started teaching others to play when she was eleven. Her musical education began at Concordia College in Minnesota, and commenced at CU Boulder, and Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Her studies focused in the areas of piano, bassoon, voice, organ and composition. Christine was principal bassoonist with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Rocky Mountain Bassoon Choir.

As a composer, Christine’s works have been featured in the German documentary film, Georg Gaertner-Hitler’s Last Soldier, Boulder Multiple Piano Festival and Federation of National Music Teachers Presentation of American Women Composers. She arranged and wrote the soundtrack for the dance/dramatization, Experiencing the Passion. She has published compositions ranging in styles for solo piano, piano duet, flute and piano, and strings and piano, as well as an innovative curriculum for improvisation and composition. Christine has presented for numerous music teaching organizations on teaching music creativity. She currently teaches private lessons and plays keyboard and electric bass with Citipointe Worship Band. She also enjoys painting and making jewelry.
